bought it from Snapdeal.com for Rs9500 instead of usual price of Rs13000.
    (RM490)

i like the build quality. metal mount.

a little degree of macro . focusing distance at 0.3 ft .
( better than 50mm f1.8 lens with nearest focusing distance at 1.5ft )

the new STM - Stepping Motor focusing system.
a little bit slow , but apparently very low noise.
    smooth focus ring.
can manually adjust focus even when if AF mode ( no need to turn to MF )

made in Malaysia ( Seksyen 26 Shah Alam to be exact )
    ironically at Rs9500 @ RM490 , the price here is cheaper than in Malaysia ( RM600 )

sample photo. shot at wide open aperture at f2.8
surprisingly sharp at its widest aperture.
macro at 0.3ft enables me to shoot this close to the subject.

Canon EF 40mm f2.8 STM lens
replacement lens for my broken 50mm f1.8 II lens.

broke another Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II lens.
this is the second lens i broke.
the first one broke when i was shooting Sunny for a bmx video.
