Uttarakhand 2014 | Day 8 : Delhi
Posted on June 14, 2014 by qidran
our ticket was supposed to end at Sarai Rohila Railway Station ( DEE ) in Delhi
but we stopped a station earlier , the Old Delhi Railway Station ( a.k.a Delhi Junction )
we planned to have Karim Biriyani at Chandni Chowk , Old Delhi.
so we stopped at Delhi Junction Railway Station instead because it's nearer.
took the train from Haridwar at 11.30pm , and arrived at Delhi at 8.30am
5 minutes auto rickshaw ride from Delhi Junction Railway Station
Karim Hotel is located in Chandni Chowk , in front of
gate no.1 of Jama' Masjid Delhi
a must visit whenever travelling to Delhi.
the last time i came here was in 2010 ( click here )
it too early , so biriyani has not been prepared yet untill 12.30pm
it was very very delicious!
the mutton Paya is equivalent to this , but instead of mutton meat ,
bones are used. something like ' Gear Box ' in Malaysia.
Naan costs rs6 ( RM0.30 ) per piece ,
and Nahari costs Rs 125 ( RM6 ) , served in a small bowl.
they used to serve food to the Indian royal family
Largest mosque in India , built during the Mughal Dynasty
NDLS and Old Delhi Railway Station are located near to each other.
NDLS is the main station in Delhi , something like KL Sentral in Malaysia.
from the NDLS railway station.
when travelling , mention ' Metro to airport ' to people / auto rickshaw ,
and they'll directly bring you there.
even flight schedule is displayed at the station.
the route goes directly to Terminal 3 New Delhi Airport ,
something like ERL that goes directly from KL Sentral to KLIA.
if we want to go to Terminal 1D ( domestic terminal ) , stop at
Aero City station ( a station earlier than Airport station )
and take cab / shuttle from there.
racks to put luggage in the metro
took around 15 -20 minutes to reach Delhi Airport from NDLS
at T3 , the Grid Bar is giving buffet for lunch.
the meals are not as good as in Kingfisher Sports Lounge
in Bangalore airport ( click here ) ,
but i don't mind as long as its free.
the airport is so big , signposts from the entrance to the gates are
noted by walking time period instead of only showing directions.
it took 15 minutes walk from entrance to my departure gate.
